This scheme aims to install Solar Rooftops in 1,00,00,000 houses across Indian states, which will reduce the monthly house electricity bill of middle-class, below-poverty-rate families. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the PM Surya Ghar Yojana or the PM Surya Ghar scheme on February 13, 2024. Through this PM-free solar scheme, every eligible house will get up to 300 units of electricity of solar energy or electricity by installing a solar panel to their house and can earn up to 18 thousand a year by selling extra electricity to other homes.

PM Suryoday Yojana Eligibility 

Before applying to PM Suryodaya Yojan, applicants must read the scheme eligibility criteria mentioned below.

  • The applicants must have permanent Indian citizenship.
  • This scheme is only for poor and middle-class families.
  • The candidate’s annual income is not more than Rs. 1.5 lakh.
  • The person who is applying for this scheme must own a residence certificate.

How to PM Suryoday Yojana 2024 Apply Online 

Go to the official website: candidates should open any browser and visit the PM Suryoday/Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana at pmsuryaghar.gov.in.

Start the application process: On the homepage right side, click the “Apply for Rooftop Solar” link option, and a new login page will be opened.

Enter the details: Select the registration option, and Fill in the consumer account details, like state, district, electricity distribution company name, and consumer account number.

Enter contact details: Enter your address and your mobile number to complete registration.

Log in to your account: Enter the registered mobile number and fill in the displayed Captcha code for human verification.

Upload Documents: Candidates upload scanned required certificates, Check the Important Documents list mentioned above.

Apply for Net Meter: After installing solar panels, then apply for a Net Meter.

Verification and Certificate: After successfully installing the solar, DISCOM will inspect the installed solar and issue a commissioning certificate through the official web portal.

Apply Subsidy: After issuing a certificate, submit bank details and a cancelled cheque through the web portal, and within 30 days you will receive the amount.
